Norm Calvin And The Truthseekers - God's place 1986



Norm Calvin & The Truthseekers was an obscure gospel group who recorded an album at Sunburst Recording Studios. They released an album entitled "God's Place" on TSM Records in 1986. The musicians were Steven Craig Jackson on piano, Sam Ross on drums, J.R.Edmonds on bass, Steve Reid on percussion, Terry Mills on synthesizer and Stanley Jones on guitar. Backing vocals by Steven Craig Jackson, Beverly Hegmon Calvin and Linda Harold. Lead vocals by Norm Calvin and J.R. Edmonds. Rhythm arrangement by Beverly Hegmon Calvin and Steven Jackson. Arranged and conducted by J.R.Edmonds.Produced by Terry Mills.


A year later, in 1987 the album was released again with another title and a different front cover.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
