Jesse Gomez - Lace



This record 45" was released on Mankind Records. I have seen it many times on ebay. However it is not the first release. The original pressing was on Bax Records. Jesse Gomez is singer from L.A. and he is lead singer of Smooth Water Band. Arranged by Smooth Water Band. Composed and produced by Les Baxter.

Les Baxter was singer, pianist, composer and producer. He also wrote the "Whistle" theme from the TV show Lassie. He worked on movie soundtracks for American International Pictures where he composed and conducted scores films. Les Baxter was owner on Bax Records.

Some days ago appeared on ebay an EP copy on Bax Records which includes 4 tracks entitled "Baby I really want ya", "Sidewalk cafe", "Sweeter than honey" and "Lace". It was sold for 102$, however the record was only VG condition. It was a big suprise for collectors.

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
