Wanda - Unique Lp

Wanda L. Owens was born in Philadelphia. Owens has a degree in sociology and social welfare from Tennessee State University. Her husband played guitar. She lost her husband, Gerald Owens, an engineer for Procter & Gamble, in 1989 at age 37. Also I want to mention that Wanda Owens at the age 20 was blind. Owens was blind for over 40 years as a result of degeneration of her optic nerves.
In the mid 80s, she realeased an album on Malewa Records from Ohio entitled "Unique". It was recorded at Counterpart Recording Studio. Counterpart Recording Studio was owned by Shad O'Shea, a longtime Cincinnati deejay, producer and promoter. Also Shad O'Shea is owner on Fraternity Records
Most of the musicians are unknown. Jim Swartout on keyboards, Brian Baverman on drums, Ted Karas on guitar, Mac Jeff McLemore on bass and Tim McCord on sax. Background vocals by Elaine Diehl and Dixie Karas. All songs written by Wanda L.Owens. Produced by Jim Swartout & Wanda L.Owens.
My favorite tracks are "I just want to love you" and "WLO". Great arrangement. Fabulous music.

Note: The above posted tracks are not played in full.

Also I would like to thank Nicolas Drosos who brought this album to my attention
