Steve Grayson - Lovin' my baby


This time, I decided to present a different record compared to my previous articles. This record is not modern soul, but the sound is very nice. Steve Grayson was an unknown singer. He released this single "Lovin my baby / Before our world fell through" on his own label named Grayson Productions from Ohio. However this release is not the first, because the Grayson Brothers had released both songs on Rat Fink Productions. I have never heard samples from the Grayson Brothers.



I want to note that there is and a third release by another singer called Bobby Remb on BR Productions. The music of Bobby Remb is similar with Steve Grayson.

The Muglestons - The Muglestons 1977 Lp

The Muglestons was a five-member family group which appeared in various places with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Pat Henry, Judy Lynn, Barbara Mandrell, Bob Hope and Charlie Rich. It has also appeared on the " Merv Griffin Show ". In addition,  it was possibly one of the first musical groups to perform on Dick Clark's " American Bandstand " without a recording. The group has started singing together since the late 60s. They consisted by the brothers and sister  Bob , Blaine , Troy , Lance and Desiree . In the mid 70s the group signed with the Mike Curb's label, called AOA. In 1977 the group released an album on ECI (Entertainment Consultants International). This album was the second album from the Mugleston Family. The group sold nearly 2000 copies. The album was produced by Darwin Lamm. Arranged by Ken Harrison. Vocal arranged by Desiree Mugleston. Sir James Randolph - The Sophisticated Funk of James Randolph 1981 Lp

Sir James Randolph was born in Brewton Alabama. After leaving Alabama, he moved to New York where he attended and graduated from Long Island University. He started to sing in night clubs throughout the city. Then he was involved into Theater, Television & Film. Performing in Las Vegas and around the world, Sir James Randolph has become one of the most celebrated performers. Sir James Randolph made his only Broadway appearance as Sky Masterson in the 1976 all black company of " Guys and Dolls "   along   with   Robert Guillaume as Nathan Detroit,   Norma Donaldson as Miss Adelaide ,  Ernestine Jackson as Sarah Brown." Guys and Dolls " is a musical and was directed and choreographed by Billy Wilson. This production featured Motown-style musical arrangements by Danny Holgate and Horace Ott and direction by Billy Wilson. The show closed on February 13, 1977 after 239 performances and 12 previews.
